Why Your Book Review Matters

Imagine this: every time you finish a book, whether it was purchased from a bookstore or online, from a library, or even borrowed from a waiting room, you hold the power to make a real difference to that author. Leaving a review isn’t just a courtesy; it’s a lifeline for authors in today’s crowded digital marketplace, helping their book be noticed and recommended to other readers at a time when millions of new titles appear every year.
The more reviews an author can accumulate from readers, the better it is for the book to be taken seriously by bookstores and future publishers. Your words don’t have to be perfect or lengthy. A simple shout-out, a quick note about what you enjoyed (or didn’t) is enough. Even a three-star review with honest feedback, like “loved the story, but the pace was slow”, helps bring books to life for others and signals to the recommended algorithms that this story deserves attention.
Remember that there’s a real person behind every book. Authors pour their hearts into entertaining us, and your review is a way to acknowledge their effort. Be honest in your review, but also be kind in your words. Enough reviews can turn a forgotten book into a bestseller, even years after its release. So take a moment to leave a review. You might just be the spark that launches an author’s dream.
If you read our first book, Curveballs and Changeups, Bleeding Blue and Seeing Red, and didn’t leave a past review, please take a moment to also leave a review for it on Amazon, Goodreads, Barnes and Noble, or any other site available. You didn’t have to buy the book through Amazon in order to leave a review on their book site. If you haven’t read this book yet, there is a link to purchase it on our site. View the book trailer also if you need more convincing.
We appreciate your support as we navigate this new world of writing and publishing our work. We need these reviews to stand out so that future agents or traditional publishers take notice of our work and recognize that our books are being read and enjoyed. We appreciate the time and effort you put into leaving a review. If you liked the store, then please also tell your Facebook friends. The message needs to reach as many readers as possible.
